This landed in my inbox only a few short hours ago and had a huge impact right from the start. Who the fuck is this? What am I listening to? What? … I don’t know anything about this dude.. but that’s the beauty of it.. it sounds good.. in fact better than good… lock your ears into some vital new material out of L.A. from Tuskegee Cadet.
This music is right out of the bubble wrap, still got that new smell, the spine ain’t broken and it is all in its original packaging… Released on April 5th Tuskegee Cadet’s new Essence EP hit with the deep funk stick on its way into the melting pot and came out sounding like an electronic journey through the jungle… thick with everything and anything that makes music good.
The last tune on this 5 track release, “Eighth Hour Euphoria” has that same rising vibe heard in the work fellow LA Producer Flying Lotus, but don’t mistake this for simply being “in the style of” someone else… there is certainly something vital and fresh in this sound that will keep your head noddin’ well into the early hours of the morning…
